Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments

Commissions: Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments

2 Thames Street, Windsor, Berkshire

We were commissioned by Savills Plc real estate providers to analyse the landscape and visual impact of a proposed residential penthouse extension to an existing building on the historic Windsor skyline in close proximity to Windsor castle. We established three view cones from Eton Bocas, Eton Bridge, Windsor riverside and form Windsor castle and inserted a Sketch Up model of the proposed building extension into existing photographic views to the correct heights and proportions. Our Landscape and Visual Impact analysis was included in a planning application to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. The Thames Street building has now been converted into residential apartments. See below Eton Brocas Viewpoint showing visual impact of proposed building and the plan of viewpoints from three locations in Windsor and Eton
Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice

We helped to secure planning permission for a new children’s hospice in Woodlands Park near Maidenhead for the Alexander Devine Trust. Our practice contributed to the planning application by preparing a landscape and visual impact assessment (LVIA) for the new site as required by the local authority the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. The hospice construction commenced in 2015 at a launch event presided over by the home secretary Theresa May.
