Beaconsfield Town Hall Green Beaconsfield Buckinghamshire England

The New Seating Area

A decorative wrought iron panel to
celebrate the town's association
with Enid Blyton and Noddy

(For Beaconsfield Town Council)

The Town Hall Green is located in the heart of Beaconsfield New Town by the Town Hall and next to the railway station. We were asked by the town council to progress a new design of the Town Hall Green and to project manage the construction and planting works to completion.

We selected a theme of celebrating the rich links that the town has with its literary past, fine metalwork details evident in the Old Town and historic modes of transport. We designed a clay cobbled seating area with an Armillary sundial, designed by David Harber Associates, as a focus. We also designed the wrought ironwork displays arrayed around the seating area. Famous people remembered included GK Chesterton and Enid Blyton.

The displays also celebrate the 700 year town street fair, a 1600 wall painting of a Lute player, a coach and horses, the local railway and Bekonscot model village. Further items on this project can be found by clicking the News page.

Orchard Meadow Green Sunbury-On-Thames England

New Wildflower Meadow and Public Open
Space in Historic Townscape Setting

(For Spelthorne Borough Council)

We were appointed to act on a community participation exercise and drew up detailed designs and specifications to create a new village green on a previously inaccessible area in the centre of Sunbury-On-Thames. The initial contract work has now been completed and the new meadow areas will be established over the next two years for the enjoyment of the local residents who will hold a community festival on the site in 2003. Features include decorative metalwork with a new access gate to the adjacent walled garden, the planting of a mature avenue of Lime and Cherry trees and the complete redesign of the access car park that also serves Sunbury Park nearby.
